A wonderful book has come to our attention which relates the life and times of Thaddeus Kosciuszko, whose illustrious name our Lodge bears.   A hero of the American Revolution, designer of the fortifications at West Point and the Battle of Saratoga and Commander-in-Chief of Poland's Army in the 1794 uprising against its Russian occupiers, Kosciuszko was described by none other than Thomas Jefferson as being "as pure a son of liberty as I have ever known."  Although a thoroughly documented history, The Peasant Prince: Thaddeus Kosciuszko and The Age of Revolution by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Alex Storozynski reads like a historical thriller from cover to cover and is difficult to put down until completed - in short, a   highly recommended chronicle about an important figure in American and European history!
